How to Become a NAfME Member

To be a part of Crane's Collegiate NAfME Chapter, you must become both a National Member and a member of our collegiate chapter. Follow the instructions below to do both!

How to Join National:

To join national, start by going to https://nafme.org

Mouse over the "Membership" tab on the menu, and select "Collegiate".

Scroll down "Join Now", and click on "New Member? Join today."

Follow the prompts to create an account. You will receive monthly magazines once you are a member, so make sure the address you list is one where you get mail.

For teaching level/area, choose all that you hope to teach.

When you have to select "Membership Type", select the following:

  • "Collegiate Membership"

    • "New York Collegiate"

      • "SUNY Potsdam, Chapter No. 3"

You do not have to choose a subscription unless you want to; you can simply click "Next" and check out. Your total should come to $41.00; $30.00 for Collegiate, $11.00 for New York, and $0.00 for Potsdam.**

Check for e-mail confirmation, and you are officially a National Collegiate Member of NAfME!!

**Technically Potsdam is $10.00, but you don't pay that online, you give it directly to our Executive Board; see the right side of this page for those instructions.

How to Join Crane's Chapter:

To join the Crane School of Music Chapter of NAfME, you need to find an Executive Board member during the academic year at Crane.

You can do this a few different ways:

  • Attend two meetings and two chapter events

  • Stop the Office (room B116 across from Crane Commons, shared with NYSBDA)

  • Reach out via email (either to individual Executive Board members through their contact information, or to our NAfME account: cranecollegiatenafme@gmail.com

Pay your chapter dues.**

Once you get confirmation from an E-Board member, you are officially a member of the NAfME Collegiate Chapter (No. 3) at the Crane School of Music!

**Current dues are $10 for the academic year, but that rate is subject to change based on the needs of the chapter.

If you have any problems with either of these processes, reach out to a Crane NAfME Executive Board member
or e-mail memberservices@nafme.org to speak to an official representative.
